BUILDING A TEAM
There are many things to do while playing the Pokemon games, but the most interactive and obvious one is battling. Whether it be with a game NPC, online, or with your best friend, it is one of the main features of the games. The whole point is to become the league champion! In order to battle well, you need a good PokeTeam. There are many things that make up a good team, and they will be discussed here.
Levels
A major objective when building a team is levels. It depends on how far you are in the game to the average Pokemon level, but use consistency. Don't have a level 49 Raticate and a level 13 Pidgey. The levels should be within ten levels of each other. That way, you aren't left battling the Elite Four with that level 13 Pidgey because they beat your Raticate.Diversity
Many different trainers like different Pokemon types. In order to be prepared for all of them, your team should have a variety of types. Though this isn't displayed in the game, where all NPCs are centered around one type, it is definitley an important aspect. You need to have a Pokemon in your party that can do well against each type. [the battle chart is here]Playing Favorites
We all tend to want a team full of our favorite Pokemon. This isn't necessarily a good thing, though. If you want a team for hardcore battling, choose Pokemon that are good fighters. But, if your favorite Pokemon are strong, go for it. Just be sure to look at more than their cute appearances. ;)Closing Words
What have we learned? Consider the following when building your team:
Consistent Levels
Variety of Types
Strong Pokemon
