INSPIRATION
I will admit, I did not just wake up one morning and say, "Hey, I think I'll build a Pokemon site today!" I was definitely inspired by a few things. First off, I became interested in Pokemon again. I discovered spriting, Photoshop (or in my case, GIMP), and it eventually led me to rediscovering the games and everything else. If it wasn't for various forums, I wouldn't have found any of that. Of course, there are a few sites that inspired me. The first one I found in a signature link at a forum. From there, the affiliates lead to the beginning of Official Minito. n_n Here are the sites that started it all:Cave of Dragonflies
This site was so original! I read around, and found out that a teenager made it, and discovered that it is okay to be older and like Pokemon. Also, the unique content was the ignition for my train of thought when writing pages for my site. I try to be as original as possible, and I wouldn't have been this unique if it wasn't for this site. Thanks, Dragonfree!Mewstar Island
A great site. Mist helped give me the idea for Shonu, by the way. Added note: Shonu's gone now, but was a big part of the original site. Also, just the general feel of the site. Like TCoD, I felt like I was talking to someone when I read this site. It was not just a robotic guide list, it had flare. It also had a blue layout [being my favorite color, it always attracts me to sites =P], but that isn't the main point. Mewstar Island is an awesome site and a great inspiration. Your site is awesome, Crystylla!Eevee's Headquarters
The layouts here are awesome! You can tell Eeveechan put a lot of work into them. Also, it has a lot of great content and unique mascots. I love the easy to follow tutorials! This site was a general inspiration to me. Thanks, Eeveechan! Thanks to all of the guys above for making great sites for everyone to enjoy, and hopefully to be inspired by. Keep up the good work!
